New Challenge Mission
Since Challenge Missions (CM) really are quite fun, I'd like to propose a new CM.
I know Anet won't add a lot of content to GW1 anymore, which is why I'm suggesting a CM which makes user of content already existing.
As some of you may remember, Random Arena's haven't always been where they are now. There used to be a small island with a hill on one end and a boat on the other end of the island. I think it can actually still be seen in the D'Alessio arena of RA.
My suggestion is to add some NPC (captain) in some town at the sea with a boat who teleports you to this island. He and his crew want to get a treasure that's located there and the player's job is to protect the crew from enemies spawning in the sea, while the crew walks up and down between the hill and ship carrying the treasure. The mission continues as long as at least one crew member is alive.
The enemy mobs come in waves. It starts of with between 5 and 10 enemies and each wave adds one extra. Every x-th wave, a boss comes along with the spawn. Between waves there is a limited time, something like 30 seconds. This depends a little on the time it takes for the crew to walk from hill to ship and back
Points are awarded something like this:- 25 points for each boss kill
- 10 points for each crew member delivering treasure to the ship
- 1 point for each killed foe
NPC skills:
I'd suggest the following skills for the crew:
-Sprint
-Divine Intervention (used when <10% health)
For the captain, who stays on the ships I'd let him use Orison of Healing
The mobs:
To avoid people being able to tank them using 55's or SF, let them have some skills taking care of those. Seeing as their numbers increase every wave at some point it'll be impossible to keep handling them causing deaths among players and crew. Possible have some snares in there to snare the crew and thus making interupting those mobs or keeping the crew clean an important task.
Rewards:
Make them comparible to other CM's.

Could be a nice addition and also an efficient new use for content already in place.

would be nice to have at least one challenge mission in prophecies if it is meant to be added there then I am all in. Idea seem to be interesting and easy to implement.

Prophecies has no Challenge Missions. Any new challenge Mission should be added to Prophecies.

Several of the PvP arenas that existed before the Battle Isles are still there. These are areas that could be opened again, and would even provide mapping for the people wanting to do that. The one in Kryta you mentioned, but there is also the one in Maguuma, the desert, and Droks (although this has been used to some extent).
Would be a long time in coming if it was added, but I wouldn't mind seeing this occur.

Sounds fun, but whether I'd want them to work on it over other projects depends on how long it'd take. Tbh, I'd probably get bored after a few runs (if I actually play it, that it).

Yes, I realize those exist(ed) too. The Droks one is used at the end of EotN as far as I know. The Maguuma, Desert (and the Ring of Fire?) arenas I am however not as familiar with, so I wouldn't know what to propose for them to be used in a good way.

Obviously, if they are able to add new PvP-maps or a Sorrow's Furnace like area I'm all for it! However, I think the Live team has repeatedly stated they can't do areas such as Sorrow's Furnace.
Seeing as they can't make Sorrow Furnace like updates, I prefer them to reuse areas previously 'deleted' than to add another tonic or minipet. I'm not saying this should be on the top of their priority list (it really shouldn't), but perhaps they find some time to put use to those old areas creating content.

A new challenge mission would be awesome - I enjoy the ones in Factions and Nightfall a lot, and there aren't any in Prophecies. And it wouldn't be difficult to use one of the old PvP arena maps for it.
Only question is - what would the rewards be?

IMO we have plenty of missions and shit to do. The problem is anet has allowed the rewards for many areas to become shit and not worth it in comparison to newer areas ( Not converting older campaigns to inscription system, Not converting old dungeons to end chest system, Neglect here, Neglect there, etc. etc. )
Of course, they will never fix those.
So...

So... it increase the rewards... you want stuff to be more common... which means... stuff will be less valuable.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
